An Evening At Ashdown Park Hotel

Crop Top - TopShop
Skirt - H&M
Chelsea Boots - Select
Bow Hairband - Cath Kidston

So, because my Dad is a Professional Wedding Photographer we thought that we would take part in the Ashdown Park Wedding Fayre Show! The show started at 5pm on Friday and finished at 9pm. So we were luckily enough to be able to see the hotel at night!

If you have ever been to Ashdown or live near the area then you will know that it is well known for it's cathedral and organ which it situated on the top floor! You will also know that it is well known for the home of many deers! Which if your lucky you will often find roaming around the outside grounds of the hotel and in the forest! Due to my Dad's job I am sometimes lucky enough to be able to see all of these beautiful hotels like this and the Grand Hotel and since I was going I thought it would be only right to take my camera!

So, since this was the case, I managed to capture some amazing pictures of the hotel and of my outfit! As you can see my outfit is quite summery and sort of vintage looking! I recently brought this skirt from H&M in Brighton and I'm in love with it! This pink saude skirt and my Demin Skirt from New Look are my top two favourite skirts ever!

I also paired it with my Chelsea Boots from Select as I feel it completes the outfit, and gives it a bit of an edge. And I use my Cath Kidston bow hairband as just an accessory!

Malteser Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ok, so if you have been reading my blog since the very beginning you will know that one of my first recipes was a chocolate cake! Well since then I have been using the Tanya Burr Sunday Cake recipe in order to make my chocolate cakes, and all I have to say is that it is absolutely gorgeous!

And to make it even better I have added my own semi twist by adding chocolate chips and Maltese's to it!

Let's Do This!

Prep Time; 10 minutes                               Difficultly; Easy Peasy!

Cook Time; 18- 20 minutes

You Will Need!

170g Butter. Softened
170g Cater Sugar
3 Eggs
140g Self- Raising Flour, sifted
30g Cocoa Powder
1 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder

For the Butter Icing;

90g Butter, Softened
170g Icing Sugar
Cocoa Powder To Taste!

Maltesers and Chocolate Chips To Decorate!
Feel free to go crazy on the decorations!

First, pre heat the oven to 180 and line two 2 x 21 round loose bottom cake tins.

Next, Cream the butter and sugar until creamy and much paler in colour!

Add the eggs and combine, then add the sifter flour, cocoa powder and baking paper and mix well together!

Divide the batter into the two cake tines, the cake batter may look shallow but it will rise into two beautiful cakes! You will then want to place the cakes into the oven for 18- 20 minutes!

Allow to cool and prepare the icing!

For the icing you will need to cream the butter, so that it is smooth and creamy, then add the icing sugar and mix until fully incorporated!

When the cake it cool, and it must be fully cool, you can now spread the icing on the two sponges and then sandwich together!

Now spread icing all over the sides and the top of the cake, and now you can decorate it with your favourite sweets!
